Left with the bottoms of a few uniquely engraved gallon jugs we wondered where they could fit into a new creation. Then we realized the diameter of the jar fit snug inside the fire extinguishers that we had recently salvaged. The “MADE IN CANADA” engraving makes for a special touch on the bottom of the jar that now houses the light inside the fire extinguisher lamp. The base of the lamp is made up of the 2nd half of the fire extinguisher and a 8 inch cast pipe coupler. Brass detailings allow the allow the lamp head to be pivoted and flipped without moving the base and the lamp is finished with vintage cord and a 50,000 hour bulb which won’t heat up. The steel is protected with linseed oil, to maintain the finish you may wish to re-apply oil every 6-12 months.

The steel neck is protected with linseed oil, to maintain the finish you may wish to re-apply oil every 6-12 months. The head is polished aluminium. Being a live finish you may wish to re-apply metal polish to maintain shine or watch the colouring change with age.
