Inspired by the vast amount of wood shavings friends’ woodshops produce, these composite panels are pressed with fibreglass resin to give a really strong interesting material, here barnboard and oak chips have been paired with a white steel frame. The panels are then coated in an epoxy resin to give a tough, deep glossy finish which really shows off the patterns and colours of the wood chip.

Off Cut Coffee Table
Â
Re-Born on 9/3/16
Inspiration for this table came from collecting many off cuts of steel tubing and the stacks of new steel box and tube at metal suppliers. Then the idea to reverse the more common approach of metal legs and wooden tops came with the reclaimed cedar posts cut to fit inside snugly inside some of the tubing for legs and for design. The top has been cast in a clear epoxy resin to give a durable flat top surface. -

Push Ply Bar-Cart
Â
Re-born on 9/27/16
Plywood is a great material, used in many many applications, but the best bit for me is the edge, the top of this attractive ‘soft industrial’ themed bar cart is made from multiple strips of various ply to show off the gorgeous end grain and it’s sealed with an oil based polyurethane for a durable satin finish. Vintage casters which were made originally in Chicago allow the cart to move freely and two racks under the top will hold all your stemmed glasses neatly. The frame is protected with a marine grade oil to prevent corrosion. Use a damp cloth to clean only is necessary and dry immediately afterwards. -

Re-Born 1/18/16Taking the face of a 1950’s radiator we’ve highlighted its fittings and antique appeal by pairing it with shelves made of hemlock salvaged from the Old Toronto Harbour. This piece is a functional representation of a period in Toronto’s rich history of design and infrastructure. The steel is protected with linseed oil, to maintain the finish you may wish to re-apply oil every 6-12 months. Using a natural wood oil when the lumber appears tired will preserve the hemlock in its best condition. Unit can be set with 3, or 4 shelves to your preference.

Hand made steel mirror for the aspiring actor or make-up artist! This Hollywood style dressing mirror is fitted with standard size bulb holders, ready for incandescent or LED lights, brass details and vintage power cord included.
